CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) The Cisco CCNA® curriculum includes four separate modules. These modules cover the learning objectives of the CCNA certification exam, which is the first step in a Cisco career-certification path. The curriculum emphasizes the use of decision-making and problemsolving techniques to resolve networking issues. CCNA students learn how to install and configure Cisco switches and routers in local and wide-area networks using various protocols, how to provide Level 1 troubleshooting service, and how to improve network performance and security. Additionally, the CCNA curriculum provides training in the proper care, maintenance, and use of networking software tools and equipment. he CCNA curriculum, which is taught mainly at secondary and postsecondary levels, features the following modules:
IT Essentials 1 - PC Hardware and Software presents an in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems. tudents learn the functionality of hardware and software components as well as suggested best practices in maintenance, and safety issues. Through hands on activities and labs, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. In addition, an introduction to networking is included. This course helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ certification.
IT Essentials 2 - Network Operating Systems is an intensive introduction to multi-user, multi-tasking network operating systems. Characteristics of the Linux, Windows 2000, NT, and XP network operating systems will be discussed. Students will explore a variety of topics including installation procedures, security issues, back up procedures and remote access.
Fundamentals of Java Programming is a 70-hour course which provides a conceptual understanding of Object Oriented programming. The course also teaches students how to use the JAVA language's object oriented technologies to solve business problems. pics also include the language fundamentals, the Java language API (application programming interface). Students will learn how to create classes, objects and applications using the language. Additionally, the course will address the demand for training and preparation for the Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform.
Fundamentals of UNIX® teaches you how to use the UNIX® operating system and introduces you to the CDE, GNOME, and KDE graphical user interfaces (GUI). An overview of the Sun Solaris and Linux versions of the UNIX operating system is provided. The class is for new users of the UNIX operating environment. You will learn fundamental command-line features of UNIX including file system navigation, changing file permissions, the vi and emacs text editors, Korn and Bash shell features, and basic network use. GUI features include Application Managers, File Managers, Text Editors, printing, and mail.
